It's been pretty slow but things are starting to get better. The crappies are finally starting to head shallow in some of the traditional areas but a lot of fish are still hanging in a little deeper water. There should be enough fish in shallow to make tomorrows crappie contest on Tonka interesting. Cloudy and rain usually help the areas I like so I'm anxious for tomorrow. I will try to post an update with some results after the contest. Most of the reports I'm getting from around town are mixed with moderate success being the norm. It sounds like the Brainerd and Alexandria areas are seeing similar action. Shallow, dark bottom bays and shallow to mid depth weed flats seem to be the main areas being targeted. Good luck.
