This FishFever classic video from the early nineties features Chris Munchow and Gunnar Miesen chasing huge fall smallmouth bass on the Mississippi River. At this time of the season smallmouth congregate in the deeper wintering holes and once located can provide non-stop action. Although Chris and Gunnar caught fish on traditional lures such as jigs and topwaters, the presentation of choice was live bait on this warm early October day. Drifting live suckers through the wintering hole was effective throughout the day and the guys went through over 5-dozen suckers catching dozens of fish each. Both anglers caught numerous fish in the 18 to 20 inch range with a few even larger fish as seen in this video. Filming Location Mississippi River, Minnesota
